I live in a very old thatched cottage in Ullcombe, a tiny Hamlet in the parish of Upottery near Honiton in East Devon with my husband Mark, my seven-year-old son Christopher, an old collie dog, two cats and seven chickens. I have two older children, Ben at university, and Helen who lives just a little way away with her boyfriend.

I qualified as an Aromatherapist in 1993 and have since trained in Slavic Massage, Indian Head Massage and Lymphatic drainage. As a massage therapist I have worked with people affected by HIV, Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer but just now I visit people in their homes, offer Indian head Massage Parties, provide massage in the workplace and present talks and workshops if asked.

My heart, and a remarkable series of little synchronicities, called me to the Interfaith Seminary in 2003 where I met Heather Holt, and a gloriously rich, challenging and profound two years followed, leading to Ordination in 2005.

Part of that training was in Spiritual Counselling: this gently unfolding process between counsellor and counselled is designed to remind both of their innate, unalterable perfection, wholeness and holiness. That just has to be good doesn’t it! In my experience it is a really beautiful therapy that evokes the Presence of Spirit for it’s inspiration and direction and can be truly transformative. 

The designing of sacred ceremonies was also an integral part of the course, a process that encourages spiritual questioning and envisioning. The creation of these bespoke rituals, that allow for real time to talk and to listen, produces meaningful and authentic ceremonies that really speak of an individuals personal spirituality. Just amazing!

I also work with a small team of interfaith ministers in Bristol offering regular Universal Worship Services. These take place on the last Sunday of each month and are open to people of all faiths and none. For more details go to www.interfaithseminary.org.uk
